At the beginning of the 20th century, or rather, the end of the 19th century, Francisco Tarrega wrote one of the most famous guitar pieces of all time. This melancholy waltz has a humming melody which uses the guitar to great effect.

Third in a series of five preludes. The piece contains strong musical gestures and is open to a wide range of interpretation. This piece is among the most intimate and widely loved of the concert guitar repertoire. You will notice a homage to Bach with the upper pedal points in the second section.
