Monet's "Garden in Bloom at Sainte-Addresse, 1866 "
About this session
One of my interpretations, hung in an Inglis Baroque frame.
Claude Monet was a founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to plein-air landscape painting.
Monet's body of work covers all subjects from portraiture, to landscapes, seascapes, gardens and still life. By recreating his paintings from the inside out we develop a powerful tool kit for all our painting activities.
In this painting we will be particularly focussing on the brush strokes Monet uses to depict leaves and flowers.
