Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Paint this cheerful Xmas scene of Santa and Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer as you learn the techniques of poster artists. Including caricature and luminosity.
On Christmas Eve Santa Claus flies from the North Pole with his magic reindeer delivering presents to all the good girls and boys!
Why does Rudolph have a red nose? Well, he enjoys a bit of Xmas cheer!
Special features
- 60 x 90cm canvas (purchase the canvas when you book the lesson)
- Class size limited to only 4 people
These canvases at 60 x 90 cm are about four times the area of our standard 35 x 45 cm canvas. So the lesson is only suited to those who can stand and work for four hours.
Sketching Santa
Starting with a stick figure, we find Cezanne's basic shapes.
Rudolph gets the same treatment.
We see how to take the basic face template and make it happy.
Student's Santa
There's no drawing on the canvas! No no no, or rather "Ho Ho Ho!", the students are learning to paint, compose and modify their ideas directly and quickly onto the canvas with a brush.
Starting very loosely we blocked in the basic colours and the big shapes.
By the 4th hour we are getting into detail.
