Mum's Garden & Paintings
Mum was born in Gilgandra, or "Gil", as Aussies call it, which is about 440 km west of Sydney, north of Dubbo.
Mum's self portrait, painted when I was a child.
As a kid I remember her constantly painting, sculpting exquisite floral cake decorations which regularly won prizes at the Easter Show, doing large tapestry and lots of hand painted decopage. I guess that was a pretty good artistic environment for me to grow up in?

A lot of this work survives in the beautiful house which she built out near Mudgee, about 300km west of Sydney.
She also designed the garden, which is a painter's delight, full of colour and texture and with a backdrop of mountains.
